Good news for MS Paint fans: Microsoft says the popular computer graphics software app will live on in its Windows Store.
In a statement published late Monday, Microsoft confirmed it will continue to offer MS Paint for free through its App Store, after a support page revealed the software would be "deprecated" for Windows 10.
According to a support page detailing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, MS Paint was listed as "deprecated," which means the software would no longer be updated and might be removed in a future update.
After news spread about the potential end to MS Paint, Microsoft released a statement saying it will live on in the Windows Store.
"In the future, we will offer MS Paint in the Windows Store also for free and continue to provide new updates and experiences to Paint 3D so people have the best creative tools all in one place, said Microsoft in a statement.
Microsoft also says many features available in MS Paint are available in its current Paint 3D app.
Initial reports of Paint's demise led to multiple tributes posted on Twitter.
